William "Bubs" Garrett Sergent, a beloved coal miner from Harlan County, Kentucky, sadly passed away at 70 in his hometown of Harlan.
Born on October 19, 1953, William dedicated his life to the mining profession. There, he was known for his hard work and for being a good person who touched the hearts of everyone around him. His presence was a beacon light to all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
In his journey through life, William forged precious relationships that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those left behind. He is survived by his loving wife, Katie Sergent; cherished brothers, Jerry (Anna Gae) Sergent and Jack (Alice) Sergent; dear sister, Frankie Creech; and his loyal companions, Zeus and Abby. William also leaves many special friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and warmth.
Although William has departed from this world, he will always be remembered fondly by those who knew him. His parents, Garrett and Jean Sergent, preceded him in death, but their memories will live on alongside William's legacy of love and compassion.
