William David Adkins

William David Adkins, age 60, of Cawood, KY passed away October, 4, 2014 at the Harlan ARH. He was born May 14, 1954 in Harlan, KY to the late William and Ruth Evelyn Russell Adkins. He was employed in the coal industry and was a coal truck driver.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Ray Adkins.
He is survived by his wife, Gayla Lynn Adkins, children Tara Rena Adkins and Zechariah Adkins, both of Cawood, KY; grandchildren: Harmony Stidham, Aislynn Engle, Autumn, Abbigail, Dylan, and Harley Thomas; brothers, Damon (Charlotte) Adkins of Tyler, TX, James Lewis (Beverly) Adkins of IL, and George Adkins of Cawood, KY; Sharon Meade of Smith, KY, Lucy (Paul) Van Warren, Brenda Ramirez, Kathy (Ed) Ramirez, and Annette (Allen) Fowler all of Houston, TX, Missy (Johnny) Francis and Tonia (Bruce) Staggs of TN.
Visitation will be at the Sharon Meade residence, Smith, KY after 6PM Tuesday, October 7 until the funeral hour which is Thursday, October 9 at 11AM also at the Meade residence with Rev. Bill Adkins officiating. Burial will be at the Meade Cemetery, Smith, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
