Wendell “Tubby” Hensley, 75, of Wallins, Ky, passed away, February 20, 2016 at Hospice of the Bluegrass following a brief illness with family by his side. He was a retired Army Veteran and Coal Miner.
He is preceded in death by his parents Moss and Rhinda Hensley; Brothers, Gilbert Hensley and John (Jay) Hensley; Sister, Della Mae Haywood.
Mr. Hensley is survived by his loving wife Retta of Wallins; Daughter, Shanan (Chris) Boles of Harlan; Grandsons, Josh and Jordy Boles of Harlan; Brothers, Eugene (Pam) Hensley of Ohio, Cecil Hensley of Burnside, Arlis (Mitt) Hensley of Wallins, and Charles (Birdie) Hensley of Wallins; Sisters, Irene (Charles) Meeks of Flordia, Ann (Sam) VanDeursen of Chicago, Geraldine Adams of London, Margaret (Denny) Puleo of New York, and Betty (Bob) Parker of Louisville; Sister in law, Betty Hensley of Wallins.
Visitation will be Monday, February 22, 2016 family 5PM to 6PM and Visitors from 6PM to 9 PM. Funeral will be Tuesday February 23, 2016 at 2PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Gary Craig Jr. will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Howard Cemetery, Pall Bearers are Josh and Jordy Boles, Dawson Charles, Bo Harris, Mikey Smith and Bobby Huff Jr.. Military Graveside rights will be conducted by the Harlan County Honor Guard.
