Thelma Bray

Thelma Bray, a dedicated homemaker, passed away on December 15, 2023, in Harlan, KY. She was born on March 19, 1958, in Harlan, KY.

Thelma was a kind and selfless woman who found joy in taking care of her loved ones. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her grandkids and her passion for ginseng hunting, fishing, and gardening. Thelma's nurturing nature extended beyond her family, as she cherished her relationships with friends and neighbors.

Thelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dillard Bray, whose memory she held dear. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Wilma Garrett, as well as her sister Nancy Garrett. Their absence will be deeply felt by all who knew them.

Thelma is survived by her sons: Dillard Randal Bray, Waylon Dayton Bray, and Danny Eddie Wayne Bray. She leaves behind a brother named Ray Garrett and sisters Maxine Clayborn, Mary Childers, Donna Clayborn, Jackie Garrett, Peggy Garrett Sizemore, and Cynthia Wilson. Thelma also had the joy of being a grandmother to two cherished grandchildren: Connor Roy Randal Bray and Dalton Randal James Bray. Additionally, she had a special friend in Mary Lynn Middleton. Thelma had a wide circle of extended family members, nieces, nephews, as well as dear friends who will miss her dearly.

To honor the life of Thelma Bray and celebrate the impact she had on those around her, visitation services will be held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home located at 122 N Cumberland Ave in Harlan on December 20th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Following the visitation service will be the funeral service at the same location from 2:00 PM with interment to follow at the Day Jackson Cemetery in Cranks, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Thelma's warm heart and caring spirit will be profoundly missed, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
