With much sadness, our hearts break to announce that Theda Fuson
Hensley, age 90, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Harlan, KY passed away on
Monday, April 20, 2020 at her residence. Ms. Hensley was born on October 31, 1929 to the late Richard and Nannie Fuson.
Ms. Hensley was a devoted, loving mother, a wonderful homemaker,
fabulous cook, and very creative crafts person. She was a devout Christian and instilled the love of God and family in her children.
She is preceded in death by her spouses: Howard E. Ward, Sr. and
Hershel M. Hensley. Her children: Son, Howard Estil Ward, Jr; Daughter, Karen Ward; and Granddaughter, Pamela Denise Ward. Her siblings: Arvil Fuson,Olen Fuson, Mildred Massingale, Lea June Burke, and Helen Kelsay.
She is survived by her beloved children: Larry “Wayne” Ward (Katy) of
Davisburg, MI, Richard Ward (Linda) of Auburn Hills, MI, Gary Ward of
Pattaya, Thailand, Sharon Carmical (James) of Atlanta, GA, and Pamela Smart(John) of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are her siblings: Richard “Bud” Fuson, Crystal “Tootsie” Anderson, Lana Sue Chandler, Edward “Ed” Fuson, and Diane Daniels.
Ms. Hensley was a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren, and 30
great grandchildren. She also has many nieces, nephews, and friends to
mourn her passing.
“Ms. Theda”, “Mom,” “Sister,” “Mammaw,” “Memaw”, “Aunt” will be
dearly missed and forever in our hearts!
Due to Governor Andy Beshear's Executive Order, given on March 17, 2020, and based on CDC recommendations to decrease the spread of COVID-19, all services for Ms. Theda Hensley will be Private.
A private burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
