Teresa Carter, of Harlan, passed away on March 20, 2025, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born on July 5, 1966, in Versailles, Kentucky,
Teresa had a passion for reading which opened doors to countless worlds and experiences, enriching her life and those around her. An avid traveler, Teresa embraced the joy of exploring new places, always eager to share stories of her adventures. She also loved music and going to concerts. Above all, her greatest joy came from her grandchildren—Kayla and Hunter Couch, Hendrix Carroll, Phoenix Carroll, Banks, and Penny Lane and Xavier Nantz who were the light of her life. Teresa had a warm and inviting personality, never meeting a stranger, and she made friends wherever she went.
She is survived by her mother, Ethel Seals Qualls; daughters, Brandy and Tim Couch and Melody Turner; and sister, Lisa Seals. Teresa is preceded in death by her father, Harvey Qualls, and her daughter, Brittany Turner.
Teresa Carter will be remembered for her unyielding spirit. She will live on through her loved ones and the many lives she touched.
Mrs. Carter's family will receive friends at the Calvary Baptist Church from 3 pm until 6 pm on Tuesday March 25th. Memorial service will follow at 6 pm with Rev. David Overbay officiating.
