Stella “Mamaw” Hensley, age 100, of Totz, KY passed away April 15, 2014 at the Harlan ARH. She was born February 25, 1914 in Sharps Chapel, TN to the late William F. Wilford and Sarah Elizabeth Wilford. Stella was of the Church of God faith. She attended the Totz Church of God and taught Sunday School for many years. She loved serving the Lord and loved the outdoors. She also loved working in her garden and flower beds. She was a quilter and enjoyed making quilts for all her family to enjoy. She was loved by many and was “Mamaw” to everyone.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kermit R. Hensley; her son, Bruce D. Hensley, and a baby daughter, Betty; sisters: Elsie, Lillie, Dalley, and Dorothy; brothers: Thomas, William, Jacob, Dewey, Jake and Bud.
She is survived by her son, Roy E. (Glenda) Hensley of Totz, KY, daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bruce (Mary) Hensley, a brother, Clifford Wilford (Cathy) of Elks Knob, AL, a sister, Beulah Sutton of Middlesboro, KY, grandchildren: Susie (Denny) Mullins, Jimmy (Lisa) Hensley, Donna (Nicky) Noe, Diane (Bob) Mullins, Rachel Hensley, Eddie Hensley, and Earl Hensley, Randy Taylor, and Jeff (Sue)Taylor; great grandchildren: Tyler Hensley, Brittany Hensley, Branden Watts, Matthew Mullins, Ashley Mullins, Seth Noe, Zachary Noe, Lyndsey Noe (David) Carmical, Jordan(Charli) Hensley, Kevin Hensley, Cory Hensley, Ryan, Katie, and Brady Taylor; great great grandchildren: Hunter, Samuel, Hudson, Cameron, Kiley, Kolby; also a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday April 18, 2014 from 6 to 8PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will be Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 1PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with Rev. Nicky W. Noe officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers.
