Sam Hensley

Sam Hensley, age 87, of Baxter, KY passed away July 14, 2015 at UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY. He was born August 7, 1927 at Smith, KY to the late Burt and Betsey Ann Hamlin Hensley. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Mary Hensley, and grandson, Samuel Timothy Hensley.

Survivors include children Etta Faye Bruce of Baxter and Sam Hensley of Ohio, brother, Gil Hensley of IN, sisters, Laura Lee of Ohio and Evelyn Hoskins of KY, grandchildren: Greg Bruce, Mary Mosley, Daniel Bruce, Joel Hensley, Matt Hensley, and Michael Hensley, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 18 from 3 to 5pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 5pm in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Hensley Cemetery, Smith, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
