Ruth Naomi Wilson

Ruth Naomi Wilson, age 94, of Cumberland Gap, TN formerly of Evarts, KY passed away Sunday, April 19 at her daughter’s home in Cumberland Gap, TN. She was born February 17, 1921 in Knoxville, TN. Her family was her greatest passion. She loved her years singing with the Southeast Choir. She cherished her years teaching and becoming guidance counselor at the school of the community she loved so well. She was a lifelong member of the Evarts Congregational United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by mother, Laura Elizabeth Reed, husband, Damon Hugh Wilson, daughter, Linda Ruth Wilson, granddaughter, Shannon Lynn Marks, and sister, Elizabeth Elliott.

Survivors include daughter, Rita Janice Jones and husband, James Jones of Cumberland Gap, TN, granddaughter, Laura C. Parker and husband, Michael L. Parker, and great grandchildren children Sarah, Emily and Stephen, granddaughter, Alison Marks Seal and great grandchildren, Cody, Olivia, Aiden and Robert Marks, lll.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21 from 5 to 7PM at the Evarts Congregational United Methodist Church. Funeral will follow at 7PM also at the church with Rev. Michael Pitzer officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, April 22 at 10AM at Resthaven Cemetery with Cody Seal, Michael Parker, Brian Seal, Robert Marks, lll and Earl Johnson serving as pallbearers.
