Russell Swanson

Russell Swanson, 58 of Cawood, passed away on February 7, 2023 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born on August 21, 1964. Russell was a coal miner for 18 years.

Mr. Swanson is preceded in death by his Parents, Franklin and Opal Swanson; a Brother, Franklin Swanson Jr.; His companion for 20 years, Minnie Sue Earls; and Nephews, Joshua David Reeves and Paul Wayne Swanson.

Russell is survived by his Step Children, Missy Cooper and Husband Grant, Mike Epperson and Wife Denise and Freddie Epperson and Wife Sissy; Step Grandchildren, Kaitlyn Pace and Husband Scottie, Michael Cooper and Wife Kate, Logan Epperson, Bub Epperson and Kristy Epperson; Sisters, Angelina Grubbs, Patricia Reeves and Husband Donnie, Rachel Swanson and LouVeda Hensley and Husband Denny; Brother, Paul Swanson; Sister in Law, Rita Swanson; A host of Nieces, Nephews, and Friends will also mourn his passing.

Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2023 from 4PM to 7PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Funeral beginning at 7PM. Gary Grubbs will be officiating. Burial will be Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 12PM at the Swanson Family Cemetery in Cawood.
