Ruby May Shoemaker, 90, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 5, 2017. Ruby was born to the late Jim and Amanda Powers in the year of 1926. She was a member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church for over 60 years and a member of The Eastern Star for over 50 years.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; her Husband Humphrey D. Shoemaker II; Sons, Humphrey Dewey Shoemaker III and Fred Harvey Shoemaker; Grandson, Brian Kevin Shoemaker; Sisters, Victoria Powers; Brothers, Bill Powers, Roy Powers, Robert Powers, Henry Powers, and Ray Powers.
Ruby leaves to mourn her passing, her caretaker and loving son, Bob Ralph Shoemaker; Grandchildren, Michael Edward (Mitzi) Shoemaker, Dana Lee (Glenn) Steketee and Jeffery (Robin) Shoemaker; Great – Granchildren, Devyn Nicole Shoemaker, Fredrick Alan Shoemaker, Natalie Jade Shoemaker, Kevin Donovan Shoemaker, Mayhgen Dannielle Shoemaker, Kate Brianne Shoemaker, Thomas Michael Shoemaker and Eli Layne Shoemaker;Daughter in Law, Martha Shoemaker; GrandDaughter in Law, Amy Shoemaker. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at The Cumberland United Methodist Church from 6PM to 9PM. Funeral Services will be held, also at the church, on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 2PM with Jody VanSickle and Chuck Spice officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Acres Cemetery in Cumberland, KY.
