Rachel Elizabeth Hensley

Rachel Elizabeth Hensley, age 31, of Totz, KY passed away February 15, 2014 at the Harlan ARH. She was born in May 3, 1982 in Harlan, KY to Kimberly Day Sturgill of Totz, KY and Billy Wayne Hensley of Gulston, KY. She was a graduate of Cumberland High School and crowned the 1998 Homecoming Queen. She was a member of the Totz Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Helen Day, step-father, Danny Sturgill, grandparents Willis and Emma Hensley, and great-grandfather, William “Bill” Day.

Besides her parents she is survived by her grandfather, Joe Day, of Totz, KY, great-grandmother, Willa Mae Day of Totz, KY, brothers: Daniel and Bill Hensley both of Georgia and Shawn Ashley of Totz, KY; sister Shannon Jenkins and husband, Tim, of Cumberland, KY; uncle, Douglas Day and wife, Rose, of Totz, KY; special uncle, Logan Fee of Gulston, KY; special aunt, Teddy Sayers of Indianapolis, IN, special friend Jeanette Eldridge of Bean Station, TN and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18 from 5 to 8pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will be Wednesday February 19 at 1PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with Rev. Homer Johnson. Burial will be at the Day Family Cemetery, Totz, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
