Polly Emily Bailey Minton, a loving mother, devoted housewife, and vibrant member of the Holiness Faith community, passed away at 82. She was born on December 7, 1941, in Harlan, Kentucky, and peacefully departed on January 22, 2024, in her beloved hometown.
Polly's life was filled with joyous moments, and her warm personality touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful voice as she passionately sang hymns during church services. Polly's love for music was apparent to everyone around her, and her melodic voice brought solace to those who needed it most.
Although Polly had many interests and hobbies, playing Bingo was one of her greatest joys in life. She would light up with excitement every time she heard the sound of numbers being called out. Polly embraced each game enthusiastically and shared countless laughter-filled evenings with friends and family.
Polly Emily Bailey Minton was preceded in death by her loving parents, Elihu and Mary Bailey; her daughter, Donna Creech; her beloved son, George Jones; sisters Mae Sargent, Anna Sue Stepp, Wanda Cooper, Dorothy Couch; as well as her brother James Bailey. Left to cherish Polly's memory is Charles Minton, her devoted husband with whom she shared almost four decades of love and companionship since their marriage on May 13, 1984. Their unwavering bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Polly's legacy of love extends beyond her immediate family. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of her children: Douglas Couch of Harlan, Edward Couch and his wife Angela of Harlan, Mary Combs and husband Tim of Harlan, Crystal Blackburn and husband Ralph of London. The countless lessons she imparted to them will continue to guide them.
In addition to her children, Polly is survived by her dear brother, Elihu Bailey Jr. of Harlan. They shared a lifelong connection filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Polly also leaves numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and close friends whom she held dear.
