Peggy Lynn Hawkins

Peggy Lynn Hawkins, 66, of Fresh Meadows entered her Heavenly Home on Friday, August 9, 2024.

Peggy was the third child born to Jim and Barbara Hawkins on January 25, 1958. She worked in childcare and as a teacher's aide for the Harlan County Schools until going to school to pursue a career as a Special Education Teacher. She loved teaching her students, working until she became disabled. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Loyall and loved the Lord with all her heart.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Debra Hawkins Brown; three brothers, Robert Hawkins, Richard Hawkins, and Andy Hawkins and sister-in-law, Lana Hawkins. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters, Shirley Hawkins Hill, Emily Hawkins Turner (Tom), Becky Hawkins; three brothers, Tim Hawkins (Billie), Ernie Hawkins Joey), Donnie Hawkins (Lisa); brother-in-law, Eddie Brown and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Hawkins. Her beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that she loved beyond measure, as well as extended family and many friends. 

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Loyall First Baptist Church, beginning at 7:00 PM with Dr. Roy Lucas and Reverend Erick Greene officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 5:00PM until the hour of service.
