Paul Blaylock of Wallins Creek, KY entered his Heavenly home on January 22, 2017. He was 92 years young. He was born on June 1, 1924. He was a retired business man in the Wallins Creek area, owner of Blaylock’s Grocery for many years. He was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He was the only Ordained Elder at the Kentenia Full Gospel Church.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paris and Elsie (Blanton) Blaylock; two brothers, Jack and Billy Joe Blaylock. Granddaughter Courtney Blaylock.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Georgia Ann (Slusher) Blaylock of Wallins; Son, Paul W. Blaylock Jr. and wife Connie, Daughter Brenda P. Blaylock, both of Wallins. A sister Betty L. Meeks of GA, special sisters, Toni Coldiron and Alene Houston. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Kevin P. White and wife Kimberly of Lexington, KY., Denise Roberts of Louisville, KY, Jason A Manns and wife Michelle of Harlan, KY., Paula Rae Ball and husband Roger, of Wallins and Joshua Paul Blaylock and wife Misty of Richmond, KY. Four great grandchildren, Danielle Roberts, Hayden Ball, Emily Kate and Elijah Paul Blaylock. He is also survived by special friend, Wendell Johnson. Also many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday January 25, 2017 from 5-7 pm in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, the funeral will follow at 7 pm with the Pastor Ed Houston officiating. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Cemetery on Thursday January 26, 2017 at 11 am with Military Rites by the Harlan County Honor Guard.
Family will meet at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home at 10:30AM Thursday morning to go in procession to Resthaven Cemetery.
