Owen Callahan

Owen Callahan, 90 of Bledsoe, passed away at home on Thursday March 5, 2020. He was born February 28, 1930 in Jackson County, Ky. He was a loving and faithful Husband for 57 years. He was a wonderful Father and Grandfather. He loved his family and was always telling others how proud he was of his family. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He worked in logwoods and was a coal miner.
Mr. Callahan is preceded in death by his loving Wife, Mae; Parents, Henry and Mary Wells Callahan; Two sisters, Thelma and Joyce; Three Brothers, Dexter, Corrum and Coleman.
Owen is survived by Seven Children, Jean and Husband Alan of Harrogate, Jimmy and Wife Debbie of Sharps Chapel, TN, Norma Wilson and Husband Wayne of Bledsoe, Larry and Wife Denise of Sharps Chapel, TN, Timmy and Wife Rosetta and Owen Jr. and Steve all of Bledsoe; Two Sisters, Daphne and Delphine; Eleven Grandchildren, Bill and Wife Amy, Jeff and Wife Alicia, Deanna and Husband Brad, Boston and Wife Ursula, Becky and Husband Stan, Jamie and Wife Crystal, Dustin and Wife Lori, Jason and Wife Meaghan, Scott, Rodney and Jacob and Wife Amber; 22 Great Grandchildren, Samuel, Allison, Nikolas, Matthew, Erik, Andrew, Devan, Bryson, Colton, Javyn, Jordan, Ashton, Maddie, Julie, Billy, Arthur, Teagan, Gavin, Ashlyn, Channing, Landon, Weston and a new baby to arrive in October.
Visitation will be March 7, 2020 from 5PM until 8PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 1PM also in the Chapel with Dustin Callahan and Larry Toner officiating. Burial will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Grandsons, Bill, Jeff, Boston, Jamie, Dustin, Jason and Jacob.
