Mr. Orville Shepherd

Mr. Orville Shepherd, age 87 of Harlan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 26, 2020 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. Orville was a Korean War Veteran, an avid Marksman having shot down the enemy Flag. He loved the outdoors, he loved buying and trading knives. He loved to garden out of the back of his truck.
He is preceded in death by his Mother Katy Shepherd, his father Henry Shepherd, brothers Hobert Shepherd, Carlos Shepherd, Sye Shepherd, Sisters Ella Jane Wilder, Barbara Lewis, Son Steven Shepherd, Son in law Gary Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Barbara Freeman Shepherd, his children Patty Lane and husband Don, Karen Thomas Henry Shepherd, Derek Trosper and wife Tiffany, Ten Grandchildren: Misty Brooks and husband Timothy, Bryan Lane and wife Alonda, Devin Shepherd, Dakota Shepherd, James Shepherd, Katy Shepherd, Derek Trosper, Alexia Trosper, Zachary Trosper, Coral Trosper, Great Grandchildren: Faith Brooks, Isaac Brooks, Anna Brooks, Emma Brooks, Elliot Lane, Charlie Lane, Zander Shepherd, and Tristian Helton. He will be missed by his loving family and many Friends.
Visitation will be Sunday March 1, 2020, from 2 to 4 PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, Funeral service will follow with Reverend Ronnie Williams officiating. Graveside Service will be on Monday March 2, 2020 at 10 AM at Resthaven Cemetery: to follow in procession arrive at Mount Pleasant at 9:30 AM. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Harlan Honor Guard will be performing the Military Honors.
