Mrs. Melissa Jo Blanton

Melissa Jo Blanton, age 54 of Baxter, KY, passed away on November 18, 2022 at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Blanton was born December 26, 1967 in Harlan County to Marvin Shepherd and Evelyn Gale West Shepherd. Mrs. Blanton was the world's best Rammie, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, world's best Sister, and was a jack of all trades.
She is preceded in death by her Father, Marvin Shepherd; Two Brothers, Audie Shepherd and Donnie Shepherd and her Father-in-law, Jimmy Blanton.
Left to mourn her passing is her Husband, Scott Blanton; One Son, Justin McClure and friend Whitney Fox; One Daughter, Jessica Blanton and friend Cameron Madon; Siblings, Sherry Day and Eddie, Marvin Dwayne Shepherd and Rhonda, Timothy Owen Shepherd and Loretta, Patricia Coots and Larry, Melanie Baker and John, Jennifer Shepherd and friend, Dr. Jose Echeverria and Jody Shepherd. Also surviving are her Grandchildren, Molly Couch, Killian Madon, and Maizie Jo Madon; Mother-in-law, Arlene Blanton; Special Friends, Billie Bonck and Kim Bennett; Brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Lisa Parrott, Robby Blanton, and friend Heather Dee, Dianna Tipton and Tony, Brett Blanton and Dianna and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends will also mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 6 PM until 7 PM. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 7 PM with the Reverend Arnold Martin officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Seth Carmichael. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 1 PM in the Resthaven Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Robbie Blanton, Brett Blanton, Cam Madon, Derrick England, John Baker, and Aaron Hall.
