Mary Magdlene Morgan

Mary Magdlene Morgan, a beloved housewife and cherished member of her community, passed away on July 15, 2023, at Hyden Health and Rehab in Hyden, KY. She was born on September 24, 1940, in Pathfork, KY, to the late Ray W. Baker and Virla Daniels Baker.

A loving wife, she was preceded in death by her husband Cephas Morgan and sister, Lydia Ann Baker. 

Mary was loved by so many. She babysat numerous children of many different churches and also cleaned and cooked for many families. She will always be remembered and loved by those whom she has cared for over the years. She was known as "honest Mary" to those who knew her best. She loved attending church, gospel music, flowers and her cats. She was a problem solver, and could create something out of nothing. Mary was a spiritual role model and a woman of principle. Mary will always be loved and remembered by all of her many, many friends. We Love you so much Mary.  

Friends and family will gather to pay their respects at Upper Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church located at HWY 406 in Leslie County, KY. The visitation will take place on July 19, 2023, starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at 1:00 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will also be held at Upper Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church on July 19th at 1:00 PM with the Reverends Patrick Morgan and Jerry Maggard officiating. Interment will follow at the Baker Cemetery on Mason Hollow Rd. in Stinnett, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to a church or charity of your choice in Mary's name.  Mary's family and friends would like to thank the staff for the love and care they gave to Mary during her time at Hyden Health and Rehab.
