Martha Hensley

Martha Morgan Hensley, 90 of Wallins Creek, finished her race here on Earth and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Martha lived most of her life in Wallins. She spent her life raising and caring for her family. When she found time, her and her husband went on several trips out west to hunt with their friends Ronald and Billie Tidwell. In her late years, she lived a quiet, simple life, enjoying her morning coffee, warm days on her porch, watching birds and tending to her flowers in the yard. A Faithful and "true blue" fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, she recorded scores to every game, filling countless noteboooks over the years. She will be remembered most as a prayer warrior who faithfully prayed for her family, friends and even people she had never met. Those prayers and her sweet presence will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Ringeye” Hensley; Her mother, Ida Whited Morgan; her father, David Morgan; Her seven siblings; Her second parents, Ed and Lee Hensley; Brother-in-laws and a “special” sister-in-law, Eleanor Bouley.

Martha is survived by her daughters, Donna (David) Hensley of Coldiron, Deborah (Greg) Russell of Columbus, GA and Karen (Randy) Lindsey of Wallins; Her grandchildren, David Dwain Hensley of Norman, OK, Chris (Chrissy) Russell of Auburn, WA, Chad (Kelsey) Russell of Cumming, GA, Miranda (Beau) Stevens of Wallins, Shane Lindsey (Brooklynn Johnson) of Grand Junction, CO and Sarah Lindsey (Wesley Farley) of Wallins; Her great-grandchildren, Cody, Bailey, Kennedy, Lilli, Jax, Alyssa and Kayla Russell; Her great-great-grandchildren, Hadley, Shep, Bella, Violet and Emmalyn.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 4PM till the funeral hour of 6PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Pastor Odie Carroll and Pastor Justin Helton will be officiating. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Hensley (Happy Top) Cemetery for family with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
