Marsell Varney Barton

Marsell Varney Barton, 72 of Harlan, passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Robert Lee and Edith Lawson Varney on December 18, 1951 in Saginaw Michigan. She lived in Massachusetts for 15 years and resided in Elcomb for her remaining years. Marsell was a member of Elcomb Baptist Church and worked for several years for Dr. N.S. Guy.

Mrs. Barton is preceded in death by her Parents; Brothers, Danny Varney, Robert Varney and Kenny Varney.

Marsell is survived by her loving Husband James “Chip” Barton; Son, Justin Ethier and Wife Trish; Daughter, Tara Hayden and Husband Drew; Grandchildren, Joslyn, Ayla, Skylar Ethier and Luke, Liam and Lawson Hayden; Brother, Bobby Varney; Sisters, Rose Crymes , Gail McCarthy, Pauline Arvin and Husband Doug and Gloria Tiller and Husband Rick; Mother-in-law, Eunice Barton; Brother-in-laws, Gordon Barton and Steve Barton and Wife Beth; Several nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September18, 2024, at the Elcomb Baptist Church from 11AM until 1PM with a memorial service following at 1PM with David Hensley officiating.

Psalm 23:4 says, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me"
