Maggie (Banks) Branson, 76 of Harlan, KY, passed away after a long illness. She fought a good fight and kept her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through it all. She is now in the presence of the God that she loved so much. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and she was loved by all. We rejoice in the fact that she now is in Heaven with the ones she loved and missed so much.
Maggie was born to the late John Osa and Elizabeth Betty Banks on June 4, 1945. She graduated from Harlan Independent School in 1963 and then married the love of her life, Curtis on June 8, 1963. She worked at Belks Department Store in Harlan around 26 years.
Mrs. Branson is preceded in death by her Parents, John Osa Banks and Elizabeth Betty Banks; Nine Brothers and Three Sisters, Forester Banks, Ottos Banks, Jude Banks, Rodney Banks, JP Banks, Paul Banks, Silas Banks, RC Banks, Roy Banks, Carmie Sorrels, Edith Emery and Beulah Couch.
Maggie is survived by her Husband of Fifty – Eight years, Curtis A. Branson; Two Daughters and One Son, Mrs. Tammy (James) Roland, Mrs. Regina (Timothy) Effler and Rodney C. Branson; A Very Special “Daughter”, Mona Kay King; Seven Grandchildren, Raymond Curtis Roland, Amanda (Randy) Cross, Amber (Aaron) Weber, Alicia (Ronnie) Garland, Christina Effler McDonald, Timothy Effler and Kaitlynn Effler; Nine Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 11AM to 1PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 1PM also in the Chapel with Burial following at Resthaven Cemetery. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
