Leon Allen peacefully went home to be with our Lord on September 30, 2020. Leon was a lifelong resident of Cranks, Kentucky. He passionately loved this mountainous area and felt it was one of the most beautiful places on earth. Leon was married to Betty Allen for 54 happy years. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. During his life he pursued many interests. He was a Coal Miner, Carpenter and Pastor of Grays Knob Pentecostal Church.
He is preceded in death by his Parents James and Cora Allen; Son, Michael Allen; Brothers, Curtis, Jimmy, Hubert and Roy Allen; Sisters, Irene Hubbs, Ruby Allen and Carol Clem.
He is survived by his wife Betty and Son Ray (Pam) Allen of Alabama; Granddaughters, Denise (Captain Matthew) Millsaps of Oklahoma, Darla (Andrew) Millsaps of Alaska and three Great Granddaughters Priya, Enah and Rona Millsaps; Brother, Chris (Jennifer) Allen; Sisters, Mary (Frank) Pennington, Shirley Landa, Dorothy (Tim) Skidmore, Thelma (Joe) Gross, and Host of Nieces and Nephews who he loved very much and made him very proud.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 11AM till 1PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1PM with Johnny Smith, Jerry Collins and Willard King officiating. Burial will follow in the Allen Family Cemetery in Cranks with Family and Friends serving as pallbearers.
