Juanita Pennington

Juanita Grubbs Pennington, 96 of Harlan, Ky, passed away February 16, 2024 at St. Joes Hospital at 9:12am after a long battle with cancer with her family by her side. Born January 9, 1928 to Lewis and Joann Grubbs. 

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Sam Pennington; Sons, Roger Pennington and Eddie Pennington; Grandson, Bobby “B Bob” Grubbs and Randall Estes, Jr.; Her Parents, Lewis and Joann Grubbs; Sisters, Mary Francis and Hazel; Brothers, Harmon, Seymour and Don Grubbs.

Juanita is survived by her Children, Peggy Pennington of London, Ky, Rosie Pennington of Harlan, Ky, Brenda Whited and Husband Bill of Cincinnati, OH, Dorothy Louise Bridges of Cincinnati, OH, Jessie Pennington, Bobby Pennington, Johnny Pennington, Ken Pennington and Frank Pennington and Wife Mary, all of Harlan, KY; Also surviving is her Sister, Georgia Shackleford of Cranks Creek; 21 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren and 15 Great Great Grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held from 11AM to 1PM on Monday, February 19, 2024 in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1PM with Jerry Collins officiating. Burial will be held in the Lewis Cemetery at Putney, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
