Johnny Wallace Smith, age 58, of Ages, KY passed away November 19 at Harlan ARH following a brief illness. He was a retired coal miner and believed in the Christian faith.
He is preceded in death by his father, James William Smith, Sr., mother, Martha Smith Carr, and brother, Oscar Dewayne Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Barbara Curry Smith of Ages, KY, son, John Kenneth Smith and wife, Chasity, of Ages; sisters, Ethel Smith, GA, Jessie Hensley of Pansy, KY, Claudia Smith of TN, Rosie Cox and husband, Andy, of Ages, KY, and Jennifer Jones of Evarts, KY; brothers, James William Smith, Jr. and wife, Roni of Dizney, KY and Sammy Smith and wife, Brenda, of Dizney, KY; brothers in law, Ken Baird of Evarts, KY, James Curry and wife, Sheila, of Cumberland, KY, Bill Curry and wife, Ona, of Ages, KY, Glenn Curry of Harlan, KY; sisters in law, Louise Whitman of Evarts, KY, Joann May of MI, Wanda Valdez and husband, Ron, of Harlan and a host of special nieces and nephews including a very special great niece, Carmen Peto, and unborn grandchild, Kensleigh Smith.
Visitation will be Friday, November 21 from 6 to 9PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will be Saturday, November 22 at 12PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Frank Howard officiating. Burial will be at Evarts Memorial Gardens with Justin Baird, Donald Hensley, Jimmy Whitaker, Trevor Smith, Jonathan Curry, John Kenneth Smith, Josh Whitman, and Calvin Joe Turner.
