Mr. Joe Denver Childers

Joe Denver (Dink/Leggs) Childers SR, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife Mary by his side on Tuesday March 9, 2021. He was born September 2, 1943. He believed in the Holiness faith. He was a disabled coal miner who loved to ginseng, fish and hunt hickory chickens.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Cynthia Jones Childers, a daughter Kim Muncy, a brother George Milton Childers, sisters Betty Tipton, Lorene Maxwell, Nancy Osborne, Glenda Childers, and nephew Billy Joe Spaulding.
Joe is survived by his wife of twenty one years Mary Childers of Jonesville, VA, his sons Joe Childers Jr and wife Chasity of Jonesville, VA, George Childers of Jonesville, VA , brother Paul Childers of Harlan, KY, his sisters Blanche Posey and husband Dickie of Cranks, KY, Helen Bumgardner and husband Albert of Harlan, KY, Grandsons Taylor, Jacob, Colton, and Devon Childers of Jonesville, VA, grand daughter Ashley Muncy of Harlan, KY, and a host of nieces and nephews. Special friends little Jerry Clayborn, Ray Garrett, Scott Lawson, Ricky Kelly, Jimmy and Tonya Roberts, Cynthis Wilson and family. George and Marsha Powers, Charles and Peggy Garrett and Coap Feed Store in Jonesville, VA.
Visitation will be in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Thursday March 11, 2021 from 3-6 PM with Funeral Services following at 6 PM with Mikey Clem and Tommy Helton officiating. Interment will be Friday March 12, 2021 at 11 Am, those wishing to attend the burial, meet at the cemetery, Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Due to the mandate set forth by the governor of Kentucky, attendees must wear a mask at all times, practice social distancing and only 60% of our capacity is allowed.
