Jeroney Smith

Jeroney Smith, 73 of Smith, went to be with his Lord on September 1, 2023 at the Hospice Care Center in Hazard.  He was born on February 7, 1950 to Curtis and Frances Smith.  He was a disabled coal miner and member of Faith Holiness Church. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Dwain, Curt, Monroe, Harry King and Charlie Smith, his sister Judy Smith and his great granddaughter Bailey Helton. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Smith; Children, Suprena (Tom) Helton, Harry (Jennifer) Smith , and Jeronica (James) Spurlock;  His Sisters, Oma Stapleton, Isabella Merida, Phyllis Smith, and Mary(Rich) Egbert; Sister in laws, Ann, Liz, and Eva Smith. Grandchildren Nathan (Brittany) Helton and Jared (Sara) Helton, Lee and Ashley Smith, and Madison, Anna, and Arianna Spurlock. Also, his great grandchildren whom he adored - Remington, Ryder, Maverick, Axel, Natalie, Brylee, and Aliyah. 

Visitation services will be Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be on Monday, September 4, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Charlie Smith cemetery with Pastor Spencer Burkhart officiating.
