Jeanette Frances "Reeda" Gilbert

Jeanette Frances “Reeda” Gilbert, age 91, of Baxter, KY passed away April 26, 2014 at the Harlan ARH following a long illness. She was born March 17, 1923 in Harlan Co., KY to the late James and Mallie Jackson Cooper. She was a housekeeper and believed in the Church of God faith.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Harris, Harold Gilbert, Sr., and Delbert Harris; 2 sons, Noah Harris and Garrett Roger Harris; brothers, Garrett Cooper and George Tolliver; sisters, Vesta Carroll, Bessie Saylor, and Della Buchannan; great grandchildren: Michael Bennett, Gina Harris, and Layic Kincaid.

Left to mourn her passing are her children: Bertha Colinger Nunn of Baxter, KY, Ruby Stoddart of Gainesville, FL, Etta (Jerry) Johnson of Shackleford, VA, Anna (Paul) Vanover of New Castle, VA, Shirley and Linda Harris of Amarillo, TX, Harold E. (Marlene) Gilbert of Baxter, KY, Sandra Gilbert (Chester Hubbard) of Baxter, KY, and Debbie (Charles) Moore of Baxter, KY; daughters-in-law, Ann and Barbara Harris; 62 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, April 28, 2014 from 6 to 9PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 12PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with the Reverends Robert Keith and Bill Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Keith, Ky. At Jeanette’s request, pallbearers will be her sons-in-law.
