James Couch Sr.

James S. Couch Sr., passed away October 8, 2023 at Buchanan Place in New Tazewell, Tennessee. He was born October 21, 1942 to Edd and Sina Couch of Totz. He graduated from Cumberland High School in 1963. On August 19, 1963 he married Yolanda Hedrick of Larwill, Indiana.

After moving to Larwill he worked for Holmes Lumber and other various jobs, until he had to medically retire from Dana Weather head in Columbia City, Indiana. He was a hardworking, kind hearted person with big hugs. He loved spending time walking in the mountains with nature and his dogs, Sadie and Abby. He loved collecting rocks and old bottles. Tinkering on things, camping and playing his guitar. He enjoyed his grandkids fiercely and they are left with wonderful memories and stories.

Mr. Couch is preceded in death by his Wife, Yolonda Couch; Parents, Edd and Sina Couch; Sons, James Couch Jr. (JJ) and Glen Allan; Brothers, John Couch, Elmer Couch, Nathan Couch and Felix Couch; Sister, Euna May Mitchell and his beloved dogs, Sadie and Abby.

James is survived by his Children, Ed Couch and Wife Wendy of Columbia City, IN, Michael Couch and Wife Cindy of Nappanee, IN, Trina Nuttle and Husband Jamison of Fort Wayne, IN and Scott Couch and Wife Jessica of Columbia City, IN; One Brother, Henry Carl Couch and Wife Kathy of Georgia; A Bonus Son, Darren Didier and Wife Marcia of Gratz, KY; Numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews will also mourn his passing.

A Graveside service will be held at a later date.
