Jack Ward

Mr. Jack Ward, age 88, of Baxter, KY, passed away on February 9, 2023, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Mr. Ward was born to the late Eulala Daniels on December 26, 1934. Mr. Ward was a schoolteacher with the Harlan County Board of Education, having taught at Loyall school until retirement. He served in the United States Marine Corps and married the love of his life, Alma, on October 28, 1960.

Besides his parents, Mr. Ward was also preceded in death by his nephew, Terry Lee.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Alma Ward; nieces, Lori (Jerry) Tuttle, Sharon (Mark) Brock, Sandra (David) Miracle, Missy (Jason) Tangeman, and Susan and Tim Jones.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home chapel. The funeral will follow at 1 PM with the Reverend David Miracle officiating with music provided by Oakdale Baptist Church Choir. Mr. Ward will be interred at Resthaven Cemetery with Jerry Tuttle, Tyler Tuttle, Logan Tuttle, Will Lampdin, Mark Brock, and Jason Tangeman serving as pallbearers. The Harlan County Honor Guard will conduct military rites at the graveside.
