Hiram "Grover" Fields

Hiram M. “Grover” Fields, age 73 of Cawood, passed away peacefully on Friday September 22, 2017 at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Grover was born March 26, 1944 to the late Hiram and Zelphia Smith. Grover served in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam War. He was retired from the CSX Transportation Railroad.
Grover is preceded in death by his parents Hiram and Zelphia Smith, siblings Baby Joanna, Lola and John Maynard, Wanda and Clarence Skidmore, Cuma and Howard Lowe and Raymond Fields.
He leaves to mourn his passing his children Hiram Fields and wife Monica of Cawood, Shannon Fields of Nashville, TN, a devoted sister Sharon and Pete Dean , Sister in law Joyce Fields, grandchildren: Jon Ryan Carmical, Noah Barrett, Ely Fields, Maddy Fields, a host of nieces and nephews and many special friends from CSX Railroad.
Visitation will be Monday September 25,2017 at the New Covenant-Cawood Church of God from 5 pm til the funeral hour. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at 11 AM with the Reverend Franklin Steward officiating. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers, interment will follow in the Fields family Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Harlan County Honor Guard.
