Heather Jo Burkhart, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, and sister, passed away peacefully on October 8,2024, at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Center. Born on June 1, 1981, in Harlan, Heather’s vibrant spirit and infectious laughter touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

As the CEO of Crazy Daisy Boutique, Heather combined her creativity and passion for fashion, creating a warm and inviting space for her community. Her dedication to her business mirrored her strong-willed personality, and she was known for her unwavering commitment to her family and friends. Heather was a remarkable woman who could always make people laugh, providing joy and comfort to those around her.

Heather’s greatest joy came from her role as a mother to her four beloved children: Katelyn, Allyssa Jo, Adam, and Gabi Jo. Her kids will always cherish the sweet memories of their mother making grilled cheese sandwiches for them late at night, a testament to her loving nature and desire to feed those she cared about. Her fierce love for her children was evident in everything she did, and they are forever grateful for the laughter and warmth she brought into their lives.

Heather was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, JC and Winifred Mize, and maternal grandparents, Charles R. and Pauline Russell.

Heather is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Burkhart, who stood by her side through all of life’s ups and downs. Her Children whom she loved deeply, Katelyn, Allyssa Jo, Adam and Gabi Jo; She is also mourned by her Parents, Larry and Pamela Jo Russell Mize, along with her sister, Londa Jo Roark, and her husband, Jeff. The family extends to include cherished nieces and nephews: Jessica Mason York and her husband, Greg, Rebekah Jo Roark, and Andrew Roark, along with her great niece, Ava Jo Lee York; Several Friends, Cousins and loved ones will also mourn her passing.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and announced when finalized.
