Hazel Jean Rapier

August 15, 1941 — October 28, 2022

Hazel Jean Smith Rapier, 81 of Smith, passed away peacefully on Friday October 28, 2022. The daughter of Steve and LouAnna Blanton Smith, born on August 15,1941. Hazel was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Smith, KY. Besides loving and caring for her family, Hazel spent her life caring for others. If you left Hazel’s house hungry it was your own fault. She will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her Parents; A Son, Danny C. Rapier; Daughter, Dana R. Douglas; Brothers, Claud Smith, Kelly Smith and Clifford Smith; Sister, Alberta Wilson; Brother-in-law, Oscar Wilson and William Rapier; Sister-in-law, Charlene Hendrickson and Mary Smith.

Hazel is survived by her loving Husband of 61 years, Royce Rapier; Son, Ronnie (Jeannie) Rapier; Daughter, Sherry (Jerry) Green; Grandchildren, Tiffany (Travis) Bowman, Joshua Green, Jessica (Steven) Munsey, Daulton (Kari) Engle, Dillon Engle and Devin Douglas; Nine Great Grandchildren; Brother in laws, Charles (Charlotte) Rapier, James (Carlita Cobb) Rapier; Sister in laws, Judy Smith, JoAnn Rapier, Linda (Jerry) Brock; Special Friends, Cleve Benge and Richard Marple; Many nieces, nephews and friends also mourn her passing.

Visitation will be Monday, October 31, 2022 from 5PM to 7PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 7PM with Spencer Burkhart officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 12PM at Britton Cemetery in Smith with Friends and Family serving as pallbearers. The family requests the everyone meet at the cemetery.
