Mr Gerald R Somers

Gerald R. Somers, age 78, of Kenvir, KY passed away at UK Hospital on November 25, 2015. He was a retired Master Sargent with 23 years of service in the United States Airforce as a jet mechanic and was assigned to the Thunderbirds as a Crew Chief. During the Vietnam War he served his tours of duty in the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Somers and Grandparents, Fred and Matilda Wallace; sister, Mary of Largo Florida and brother, Bob of Bonaire, GA .
Mr. Somers is survived by his wife; Tommie, children; Linda Somers and Robert Somers all Of Kenvir. Grandsons; Nick Somers of Arcadia, Fl and Chance Turner of Kenvir, KY. Great granddaughter, Reagan Somers of Kenvir, KY. Brothers; Jim and Robbadean Somers of Kenvir, KY, John and Carol Somers of Mabank, TX, Mike and Wanda of Kingston, TN.
A memorial service will be planned by the family at a later date.
