Eugene Bargo, 79, of Harlan, KY passed away January 27, 2015 at the Harlan ARH after a long illness. He was born March 13, 1935 in Yancey, KY to the late Dave and Dora Bargo. He believed in the Baptist faith and was a retired butcher for A&P Grocery Store in Harlan. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary Bargo, great granddaughter, Savannah Childers, brothers, Ed, Everett and Eulyus Bargo.
He is survived by two children: Jan Rose Perkins and husband, Harry, and Jamie Bargo all of Harlan, KY; two grandchildren, Cindy Childers and husband, Jason, and Cristi Bargo and husband, Brent, of Harlan, KY; great grandchildren, Trenton and Cheyanne Childers, Kimberlyn, Morgan, Katie and Evan Bargo; brothers and sisters, Sam Bargo and Dave Bargo, Jr. both of Gulston, KY, Janie Cowan and Patricia “Cozy” Bargo both of Harlan,KY, and Betty Logan and Evie Norris both of OH; half-sister, Nancy Mills, of Knox Co., KY and host of nieces and nephews and other family and friend also survive.
Visitation will be held Thursday January 29 from 5 to 8:00 pm in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 at 1PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Keith, KY. The Harlan County Honor Guard will be providing full Military Rites.
