Elsie Hensley

Elsie Hensley, age 91, of Smith, KY passed away November 29, 2014 at the Claiborne County Nursing Home. She was born May 3, 1923 at Smith, KY to the late Wick and Mary Florence Smith Hamlin. Elsie was a homemaker and worked for Essex Wire Corp. in Lafayette, IN. She believed in the Baptist faith.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Clarence, Granville, Virgil, Roy, and Cecil Hamlin; sisters, Virgie Blanton, Gracie Wilson, Mary Fowler, and Maxine Hamlin; grandchild, Katie McGill and great grandchild, Cory Dale Wilson.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, Robert Lee (Darlene) Hensley of New Tazewell, TN, Joyce (Terry) Phillips of New Tazewell, TN, Peggy Ann (Steve) Shelton of New Tazewell, TN, and Lois Smith of New Tazewell, TN, brothers, Robert (Elizabeth) Hamlin of Nashville, TN, Walter Hamlin of Independence, KY, and Lester Hamlin of Ohio; sisters Gladys (Ernest) Hensley of Smith, KY, Juanita Daniels of Michigan, and Geraldine (Robert) Eads of Ohio, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3 from 10-12PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 12pm in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Ernest Hensley officiating. Burial will be at the Britton Cemetery, Smith, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
