On Friday, November 4, 2022, Eldon Bledsoe of Evarts, KY, passed from this life to the next. Eldon died of natural causes after suffering for several years from black lung and heart disease.
Eldon was born in 1940 to Coy and Nettie Bledsoe of Rosspoint and was a lifelong resident of Harlan, KY. He was a former coal miner and tipple operator at Brookside, KY, and was a hard worker, a good provider, a caring father, and husband. Most importantly, Eldon was a Christian and had followed Christ for 24 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his first wife, Cora Bledsoe, his brothers, Jerry and Carlos Bledsoe, and his step son Floyd Hamlin.
Eldon is survived by his loving wife, Floralena Enix Bledsoe; three daughters, Nancy Lois Turner, Teresa Bledsoe, and Ashley Bledsoe; and two sons, Martin and Tony Bledsoe; brothers, Doyle and Darrel Bledsoe; Daughter in Law Bobbie Hamlin, grandchildren, Tammie Hamlin, James Hamlin, Tim Turner, Stacy Bledsoe, Josiah Bledsoe, Hannah Bledsoe, Alli, and Aliyah King. He also will be missed by his four stepchildren, Eugene, David, Mike Enix, and Lorena Enix Saylor, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, November 7, 2022, from 11 AM until 1 PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Cupp Cemetery in Evarts, Ky, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
