Dorothy Hatmaker, 82 of Wallins, passed away on December 8, 2022 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born to the late William Augustus Lee and Clarissa Simpson Lee Brigmon on September 8, 1940.
Dorothy was an employee of Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital for 28 years, working in the cafeteria and then housekeeping. She loved her job and all the people she worked with. She truly made each patient feel loved and cared about. Dorothy was a Granny to everyone she met. When you would ask someone about Dorothy, the one word we heard over and over again was that she was a “Firecracker”. To know her was to love her. She was the most selfless person, always putting everyone else first. Her family meant the world to her. She could fuss and say what she wanted to about them but didn’t want anyone else to say a thing. Dorothy loved her Grandkids more than life.
Ms. Hatmaker is preceded in death by her Mother, Clarissa Brigmon; Three Children, Margaret Sue Hatmaker and two baby boys; Late Husband, Billy Gene Hatmaker, SR; Brother, Albert Brigmon.
