Delbert Stallard Saylor, 79 of Coldiron, KY entered through Heaven’s Gates on March 21, 2016. He was born May 16, 1936 at Molus KY. He is preceded in death by his father, John D. Saylor and his mother, Nancy Jane (Nannie) Stallard Saylor, brothers; Daniel Saylor and Freeman Saylor and his sisters; Elva Mae Baker, Lorene Blanton and Reba Saylor.
He is survived by a brother, Harvey Saylor and a sister; Helen (Paris) Howard. Also surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Helen Victoria Eldridge Saylor and children; Darlene (Jeff) Roberts, Geri (Kelley) Smith, Christine Saylor, Trisha (George) Meeks, Delbert Dewayne (Laurie) Saylor and Amy (Billy) Cottrell.
Also surviving are grandchildren; Duffy (Julie) Roberts, Lincoln (Brittney) Smith, Tyler (Kimberly) Smith, Jordan Smith, Brian and Kelsey Fultz, Morgan, Matthew and Micah Meeks, Christy, Leah and Noah Saylor, Luke and Jesse Cottrell. Nine great-grandchildren; Landon, Logan and Liam Smith, Benjamin and Jude Smith, Gracie, Kiera and Uriah Roberts and also Tristan Kelly. Delbert loved hunting, fishing and farming and was very proud of his wife, children, grandchildren and great grand-children. He was a metal worker at Lawsons in Cincinnati before moving back to Harlan County where he and his brothers operated F&D Coal Company and DanDel Coal Company. He retired from mining when Parkinson’s Disease took its toll. He was a former member of the Molus Pentecostal Church and a faithful member of the House of Mercy Church in Wallins, KY and believed in the Pentecostal faith.
Services for Delbert will be at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home for visitation on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 6PM until 9PM with the funeral being held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11AM at the House of Mercy Church in Wallins with the Rev. Carl Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers.
