Danny Ray Garrett

Danny Ray Garrett, age 62, of Cranks, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was born February 2, 1962, a native of Cranks, KY. Ray believed in the Christian faith. Ray had a genuine heart, was nice to everyone he encountered, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loves to hunt, fish, dig ginseng, raise a garden, hunt for hickory chickens, and piddle in junk. Ray also loved the University of Kentucky basketball. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Wilma Garrett, and sisters, Nancy Garrett Noe and Thelma Bray. 

Ray is survived by his loving sisters, Maxine Clayborn and the late James Clayborn of Bobs Creek, Mary Childers and the late Dink Childers of Jonesville, VA, Donna Clayborn and the late Jerry Clayborn of Cawood, Jackie Kelly and the late Jack Bailey of Cumberland, Peggy Sizemore and husband Charles of Lenarue, Cynthia Wilson of Leanrue, Marsha Powers and husband George of Cumberland and Tonya Roberts and husband of Wallins, special friends: Duke Davis, Charlie Garrett, Billy Joe Hensley, and Elmer Middleton. A host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends also mourn his passing. 

The family will receive friends at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 12:00 until 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor George Powers officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett-Browning Cemetery at Cranks, KY. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
