It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Wayne Burns, 65, from Sadieville, Kentucky; originally from Bledsoe, Kentucky. After a long, hard fought battle with colon cancer, Dan passed away at home with his family by his side on Wednesday June 28th.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life for 44 years (Pamela Fultz Burns); his daughter (Katherine Burns); his grandson (Gabriel Burns); his parents (Willis & Patricia Burns), his nephews (Albert & Lonnie Dale Lankford), his sister-in-law (Sharon James) and father-in-law (Earl Fultz Sr).
He is preceded in death by his daughter (Rachel Burns); his brother (Bobby Dale Burns) and his sister (Linda Gail Lankford).
Dan was an outstanding person, a light that shined in the sky on others. He thrived in the outdoors and fishing. He was gifted with thinking outside the box which made him excel in engineering , mechanics and many other areas. He had amazing wit, knowledge, kindness, love, and honor. Above all else he cherished his family and would do anything for them. Dan has an endless list of attributes, strengths, stories and people who care for him.
Dan had 30 years of employment at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, achieving the position of group leader. He truly loved his job and excelled in it.
In his retirement his greatest joy was spending time with his grandson Gabe. Dan cherished taking Gabe fishing and teaching him about life. He lived life to the fullest.
His visitation will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home on Saturday, July 1st, 2023 from 4pm-7pm. There will be a conclusion at 7pm.
