Curtis Arvil Branson, 85 of Harlan, Ky passed away April 5th, 2022 after a long illness. He was a minister of the Christian faith for many years. He married the love of his life Maggie (Banks) Branson on June 8,,1963 and was married for 58 years. He has now been reunited with his loved ones that have gone before him. Curtis was employed for the Kentucky Unemployment Office where he worked for many years and was also a member of the Kentucky National Guard. He spent many years as an employee of the Harlan Independent Schools and was a coal miner for some time.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Bradley and Nannie Branson; Four Brothers and Five Sisters, Herbert Branson, Olin Branson, BillyDan Branson, Thedford Branson, Mildred Branson, Grace Long, Loretta Britt, Louella Estep and Ethel Tapscott.
Curtis is survived by One Son and Two Daughters, Rodney Curtis Branson, Tammy (James) Roland and Regina (Timothy) Effler; A very special “Daughter” Mona Kaye King and a very special “Son” Matt Middleton. He is also survived by Two Sisters, Myrtle Muncy and Barbara Hurley; Seven Grandchildren, Raymond Curtis Roland, Amanda (Randy) Cross, Amber (Aaron) Weber and Alicia (Ronnie) Garland, Christina Effler Mcdonald, Timothy Effler and Kaitlynn Effler; Nine Great Grand Children and many more very special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, April 8th, 2022 from 5PM to 8PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday April 9th, 2022 beginning at 1PM also in the Chapel with Darrell Perkins and Rob Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
