Mr. Charles William Prewitt
March 3, 1945 — July 28, 2022
Mr. Charles William Prewitt, Sr. McDonough, GA, formerly of Cawood, KY, passed away on July 28, 2022.
Born on March 2, 1945, to the late Warren and Beatrice Prewitt, Mr. Prewitt joined the Army at 17 years old and served in Korea. Charles loved his family, was a Mason, and retired from General Motors after 35 years of service.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ingrid (Ink) Prewitt, with whom he was married for 43 years.
Left to mourn his passing are his children, Charles (Chuck) Prewitt, Jr. and wife Valorie, Stephen Prewitt, Sandra Smith and husband Johnny, and John Prewitt, all of McDonough, GA. Grandchildren, Candice, Jessi, Cody, Sidney, Gracie. Kasey, McKenzie, Jake, and Luke; six great grandchildren, also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 3 PM at the Day-Jackson Cemetery in Cranks, KY.
Full military honors will be conducted for Mr. Prewitt at the graveside by the Harlan County Honor Guard.
