SFC. Charles Lee Patterson, Sr., age 70, of LaGrange, KY formerly of Harlan passed away July 7, 2014 at his home. He was born Jan. 22, 1944 in Harlan, KY to the late John Henry and Beulah Jane Napier Patterson. He was a coal miner and over road truck driver. He was retired from the United States Army and served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, LaGrange, KY and his life mission was to win souls for Jesus.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Ed and James Patterson; sister, Lois Patterson, and grandson Joshua Lee Patterson.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna Howard Patterson of LaGrange, KY; children: Charles Patterson, Jr. (Yvette) of LaGrange, Annette (Melvin) Skidmore of Cranks, John (Jennifer) Patterson of Cawood, and Michael Shane (Amanda) Patterson of LaGrange; brother John Harrison Patterson of Henry Co., KY; sisters: Pat Howard of Patterson Crossroads, TN, Rose Adams of Pendleton, KY, Velma Miracle of Pineville, Beverly Mills of Frankfort, and Nancy Acree of LaGrange; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9 from 5 to 8PM at the Grays Knob Bible Church. Funeral will be Thursday, July 10 at 2PM at the Grays Knob Bible Church with Rev. David Woosley officiating. Burial will be at the Day-Jackson Cemetery, Cranks, KY with the Harlan Honor Guard performing military rights.
