Billy Collins

Rev. Billy Collins, age 74, of Cawood, KY passed away July 19, 2014 after a short illness. He was born March 8, 1940 in Cawood, KY to the late Bill and Mildred Harris Collins. Bill was a retired coal miner and an over the road truck driver. He believed in the Holiness faith and was a pastor and evangelist since 1971. He loved to help others and tell them about the Lord. He served in the United States Army.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Cora Anderson, and brother, Ken Spurlock, and other parents, Hiram and Annie Brewer.
Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 56 years, Vedia Brewer Collins of Cawood, KY; 3 children: Sandy and Sonny Ray of Cawood, Steve and Patricia Collins of Stanford, KY, and Ann Collins of Georgia; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister in law, Loretta Couch, of Kildav, uncle, Henry Harris of Baltimore, MD, 2 aunts: Nannie Lyles of Troy, NC and Viola Collins of Cawood.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 22 from 5 to 9PM at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral will be Wednesday, July 23 at 1PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant with Stephen Daniel, Doug Daniel and Shawn Daniels officiating. He will be laid to rest at Day Jackson Cemetery, Cranks, KY with friends and family serving as pallbearers. Military Honors will be performed by the Harlan County Honor Guard.
