Alva "AL" Smith

Alva “Al” Smith, age 90, entered Heaven’s eternal gates on Saturday May 6, 2017 at the Harlan Heath and Rehabilitation Center with family by his side. He was a member of the Church of God.
Alva was born on February 4, 1927 to the late Bird and Meddie Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wilma Gene, and two grandchildren Robin Pierce and Ray Eldridge.
Alva leaves to mourn his passing his children Ernest Smith of TN, Michael Smith of FL, Alene Smith and David Hinkle of Dryden VA, Alberta English of Jonesville, VA, Brenda Lasley of Jonesville, VA, Teresa Truelove and husband Keith of Georgetown, IL. Grandchildren, Gordon Lasley Pierce, Candace Ranee Craft, Michelle Dillman, Tracy Hobbs, Allen Eldridge, Jason Lee Allen, April and Misty Smith, Angelica Smith, Jason Smith, Timothy Smith and Christy Smith, and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 10, 2017 in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home from 11am-1pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm also in the chapel with Doug Daniel, Spencer Burkhart and Jeff Mills officiating. Graveside service will follow at the Britton Cemetery in Smith, KY. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
