Alonzo Broughton

Alonzo Broughton, 80 of Baxter, KY passed away peacefully on May 16, 2020 at his residence. He was born on February 22, 1940 to the late Charlie and Nancy Broughton. He worked 40 years at Gaines Lumber Company and he was a fisherman and gardener.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Charlie and Nancy Bright Broughton, brothers, Earnest, Ben, Earl and Jay Broughton, sisters: Georgia Broughton, Sarah Napier and infant daughter Linda Lou Broughton.
Alonzo is survived by his wife Louise Broughton Baxter, children: Mae Simpson and husband Danny of Harlan Andre Broughton and wife Samantha of Loyall, Grandchildren; Kristy Blanton and husband Tim of Harlan, Courtney Broughton of London, Deborah Broughton of Louisville, DJ Simpson and wife Cassie of Harlan, Ali Broughton of Harlan, Brittney Massey and husband Marquise of Louisville, Great Grandchildren; Austin Blanton and Allie Blanton of Harlan, Zanier Massey, Serenitee Massey, Daizee Whittaker, Special friends, Sam Allaway and Johnny Couch and little prayer warrior Bella Witt, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 21, 2020 from 5PM to 7PM in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 7PM also in the Chapel with Jeff Mills Officiating. Burial will be Friday, May 22,2020 at 11AM at Wilder Cemetery. The family will meet at 10:30 AM at the funeral home to go in procession.
