Alberta Hensley Byrd, 87 of Coldiron, went to be with Jesus on August 10, 2024. Born in Lenarue, Kentucky on September 26, 1936 to William Barnett Hensley and Dollie Ethel Cheek Hensley Strunk.
She was a respectful daughter, a faithful wife, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. As well as a trustworthy friend. A loyal member to the Kentenia Full Gospel Church where she sang and played the piano. Her favorite song, “I am Blessed”. She loved family time, taking care of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed visits with family and friends that led to laughter, doing crafts, decorating for the holidays, making her home pretty, cooking and eating good food and sweets. Most of all she loved the Lord, going to church, attending revivals, praying and gospel singing.
Preceded by her Parents are also Three Brothers, Donnie Bee, Herbert and Jesse Hensley; Husband, Luther Livingston Byrd, Sr.; Beloved Son, Luther Livingston Byrd Jr.; Beloved Granddaughter, Natasha Lynn Turner Clem; Son In Law, Paul (Bogie) Turner Sr.; Her littlest Angel Grace Welborn of Fort Worth, TX; Niece, Judy Hensley McFarland of Lexington; Sister In Law, Pat Doepel Hensley of Chiefland, FL; Nephew, Remington Hensley of TN.
Survivors are her Five Daughters and One Son – Penny Lee and Husband Steve of Coldiron, Ginger Turner of Coldiron, Tami Andrews and Husband Chris of Meridan, Idaho, Cozett Smith and Husband Malone of Fort Worth, TX, Bonnie Byrd of Baxter and Burley Brent Thomas of Lexington; Brother, Ronnie Hensley of Chiefland, FL; Special Sister, Sylvia Saylor and Her Granddaughter Georgina of Wallins; Step Daughters, Mary Thomas of Bear, DE and Ellen Martin and Husband Bob of Virginia;
Grandchildren – Steven Lee and Wife Megan of Lenarue, David Lee and Wife Haley of Cumberland, Lauren and Joshua Lee of Coldiron, Chasity Warren and Husband Larry of Manchester, Paul Turner Jr. and Wife Ashley of Berea, Brogan and Ravin Andrews of Meridan, Idaho, Crystal Welborn and Husband Drew of Fort Worth, TX, Season Villines and Husband Tommy of Fort Worth, TX; Special Grandson, Shane Byrd of Coldiron, Lucas Blevins and Fiancé Amber of Harlan; Grandson In Law, Heath Clem.
Great Grandchildren – Arwen Lemaster, Hudson Lee, Jett Lee, Tidus Lee, Cassidy Turner, Krislyn Clem, Eden Turner, Olivia Turner, Jaxon Welborn, Lincoln Welborn, Fallon Welborn, Sutton Villines, Sadie Villines and Kendell Blevins.
Nephews and Nieces – Eddie Hensley and Wife Colleen, Vicki Hensley Long and Husband Carl, Mylena Hensley, Jessica Hensley Lyons and Husband Jonathon and Daughter Angelina and Donnie Thomas and Wife Amy.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 4PM for Family and 5PM to 8PM for Friends at Kentenia Full Gospel Church in Wallins. (2911 State Hwy 219, Wallins, Ky) Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11AM also at the Church. Pastor Greg Abraham presiding. Burial following at Resthaven Cemetery. (3000 State Hwy 840, Baxter, KY). Dinner for the family will be provided by the church afterwards.
Pallbearers will be Steve, Steven, David and Joshua Lee, Larry Warren, Paul Turner, Lucas Blevins and Heath Clem.
Her last request is for all who knew her to always remember to pray for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. To bring others to the Lord and I am blessed and so are you!
