Betty Swanson

Betty Swanson, 72, of Sharps Chapel, TN, passed away on May 9, 2022 at her home. She was born to the late Wilson and Mary Jones Mclain on January 29, 1950 in Harlan County. She was a Social Worker for Union County Tennessee for several years. She also was able to shake John F. Kennedys hand while he was running for president.
Ms. Swanson is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband of 49 years, Larry Gene Swanson Sr.; Brother, Daniel Boone McClain; Sister, Leota Sue McLain; Grandson, Zackary Swanson; Half Siblings, John Paul McClain, Arnold Wayne Helton, Mary “Mert” Blanton and David Helton; Step Siblings, Gladys Burchett, Kyla Mclain, Debra Owens, David Mclain and Bobby Joe Mclain.
Betty is survived by her Sons, William Swanson and Larry Swanson Jr. and Wife Michelle; Step Grandchildren, Sherry Stanley and Stanley Vickery; Sister In Law, Sophie McClain.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 1PM in the Irvin Cemetery in Cawood.
